Our History

Democratic Students Party – The Hague was founded in 2018 by several students at Leiden University’s Campus The Hague. We were elected to the University Council for the first time in 2018 and are excited to put our suggestions forward! In 2019, the party grew even further when we were elected to both the faculty council of Humanities and Social and Behavioural Sciences. With our international team we are looking forward to working on including all students in the democratic institutions of the University. We hope to work with the other parties in order to make studying in The Hague the best experience possible for Leiden University students. In January 2020, the DSP finally became an official organisation by registering at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to the funds of the Leiden University Fund (LUF) we were able to finance this huge undertaking and we’re happy to see the DSP grow!
