Our Team

The DSP has four distinct parts to its organisation – The Councillors, The Board, The Secretariat, and The Advisory Board. On this page you can find a little more information regarding the individual parts and how they work together to make the DSP work for you.

Want to join our team? See our vacancies here.

The Councillors

The Councillors are the individuals you elect to act as your voice in the rooms of power throughout the University.

The Board

The Board is the engine room of the party, it works to coordinate the Councillors and the Secretariat.

The Secretariat

The Secretariat are the people behind the scenes that make the work of the DSP possible. The Secretariat is home to the Councillor Support Officers, Student Outreach Members, and Campaign Support Staff.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board keeps the DSP in line with our obligations as set out in our Statutes and Policy Manual. They also serve as guidance for tough queries that the DSP may encounter and as an impartial arbiter in the event of internal issues.

Campaign Support

When election time comes around, we really have to work to get our message out there. We do this through our Campaign Support Volunteers.

The Advisory Board

The Advisory Board works to ensure that the DSP Board does everything according to the rules and regulations that have set in the Articles of Association and the Policy Manual. Both can be found on the About Us section of the website. The Advisory Board is made up of former DSP councillors and board members so that they can also offer advice to the Board upon request as well as help resolve any issues that may arise within the DSP.
